How To Install Nest Thermostat?

Follow these steps carefully to ensure a safe and proper installation:
- Turn Off Power
Before starting, turn off the power to your HVAC system at the breaker box. This prevents any electrical mishaps during installation.
- Remove the Old Thermostat
Carefully take off the faceplate of your current thermostat. Note how the wires are connected and take a picture for reference. Label the wires using the included stickers from the Nest box.
- Check Compatibility
Visit the Nest website to use their compatibility checker, or compare the wire labels to ensure your system works with Nest.
- Install the Nest Base
Pull the wires through the center of the Nest base plate. Use the built-in level to position it correctly, then screw it into the wall using the included hardware.
- Connect the Wires
Insert each labeled wire into the corresponding connector on the Nest base. Press down on the tab to secure the wire. Tuck any excess wiring back into the wall.
- Attach the Display
Push the Nest display onto the base until it clicks into place.
- Restore Power and Set Up
Turn the power back on at the breaker. The Nest thermostat will light up and guide you through the setup process. Connect to Wi-Fi, enter your location, and configure your heating and cooling preferences.
- Test the System
